John Tarlton

President, Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors

Overview

As President and Chief Executive Officer, John Tarlton is responsible for management and oversight of all aspects of the company. He brings vision, innovation and passion to this role. An engineer by training and an astute businessman by education, John saw the potential to turn industrial warehouses into a vibrant biotech science center that could support collaboration between local university researchers, entrepreneurs, and investors.

Background

John started at Tarlton Properties as a teenager, earning his way to his present leadership role by starting at the very beginning as a laborer and carpenter. During his tenure, he has played a central role in the entitlement, development, marketing and management of a number of successful projects. He has guided the company through significant growth in size and capability, introducing state-of-the-art management systems and best practices.

Education

John earned an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from UCLA. He has also received numerous engineering awards, including honors from ASME, EPRI, ASHRAE and NASA.

John holds a California Real Estate Broker’s license.

Professional/Community Activities

John is an active member of NAIOP and the National Medical & Life Science Forum. He has served on a number of boards and in advisory roles for the City of Palo Alto, as well as served as house/project captain for numerous Rebuilding Together projects in the communities of East Palo Alto and the Belle Haven neighborhood of Menlo Park. He has also been an active fundraiser for the Cate School. Along with other members of the Tarlton team, John has recently focused his philanthropic efforts on raising funds and awareness for Stanford Cancer Institute (SCI). Participation includes hosting fundraisers and successfully competing in ultra-cycling and running events to raise money for SCI.

Ron Krietemeyer

Chief Operating Officer, Board of Directors

Overview

As Chief Operating Officer, Ron Krietemeyer is responsible for the overall management of company operations, including construction and redevelopment activities. His role includes oversight of design development as well as the entitlement process for all construction projects.

Background

Ron’s professional experience began with the US Navy as a nuclear power plant operator in the submarine force. After his military service he held several management positions in the Reliability Technologies Division of Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company. Subsequently he served in operations management positions with several Bay Area life science and technology companies including Surromed, Oxonica, Imara, and Auxogyn. Ron joined Tarlton Properties in 2012 as the Vice President of Operations and Construction and has since assumed the responsibilities of Chief Operating Officer. Ron’s broad background in research and development, medical device and manufacturing operations along with his capacities in construction and facilities management align ideally with Tarlton Properties' strategic goals.

Education

Ron attended Illinois State University and is a graduate of the Naval Nuclear Power Program.

Professional/Community Activities

Ron is a member of the Silicon Valley chapter of the Building Owners and Management Association and the International Facilities Management Association. Ron was an active member of the Institute for Supply Management and the National Association of Safety Professionals.

Anthony Bonifacio

Vice President, Construction

Overview

As vice president of construction at Tarlton, Anthony has overall responsibility for construction management activities for Tarlton’s portfolio of R&D, life science, office and industrial use properties and tenants. Anthony brings nearly 20 years of commercial real estate experience to Tarlton, with deep expertise in project management and architectural design and many years working with the life science community. His biopharmaceutical and biotech background helps him understand the unique challenges and opportunities faced by companies in this market.

Background

Anthony joined Tarlton from Project Management Advisors, where as vice president he created a deep portfolio ranging from commercial office to research facilities, and where he was the primary contact and team leader for a large biopharmaceutical client in the San Francisco Bay Area..

Education

Prior to joining PMA, Anthony worked for Jones Lang LaSalle’s San Francisco office, providing project management for financial service clients such as Citibank, HSBC and Bank of America. Earlier in his career, Anthony provided architectural design management for Gensler, San Ramon, California and VDK Architects, Oakland, California.

Robin holds a California Real Estate Broker’s license.

Professional/Community Activities

Anthony is a veteran of the United States Navy, having served at the tail end of Desert Storm and during Operation Gulf Watch aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72).

Elizabeth Krietemeyer

Vice President of Operations

Overview

As Vice President of Operations, Elizabeth Krietemeyer is responsible for the operations, leasing, and property management teams. She also has transactional responsibility for Tarlton's acquisitions, sales, and financing activities.

Background

Elizabeth joined Tarlton Properties in 2014 with more than 10 years experience in commercial banking. Her early career included work with ESPN and Siemens Westinghouse. Elizabeth joined Bank of America in 2004, becoming a leader in the consumer banking channel. Her successful leadership led to her selection as a member of the implementation team for the largest technology upgrade project in the bank’s history. Elizabeth then joined US Trust as business support manager for Silicon Valley and the East Bay, responsible for market operations and compensation strategy.

Education

Elizabeth earned a BS in English Technical Writing from the University of Central Florida.

Elizabeth holds a California Real Estate Broker’s license.

Professional/Community Activities

Elizabeth is a past president of Pi Sigma Epsilon, a co-ed business fraternity specializing in marketing and sales management. Elizabeth is a member of the Silicon Valley chapter of the Building Owners and Management Association . She is also an active supporter of the March of Dimes and Senior’s First.

L. C. (‘Tig’) Tarlton

Chairman Board of Directors

Overview

As Chairman of the Board, Tig Tarlton draws upon the experience, knowledge, and insight gained through a long, distinguished, and highly successful career in commercial real estate to guide and support the continued growth and evolution of the company. At many levels, Tig continues to significantly contribute the on-going growth and success of the company he founded and built.

Background

After a successful early career as an executive at two regional development firms, where he managed a number of joint venture and other investment properties, Tig Tarlton founded Tarlton Properties in 1980 to provide comprehensive services in a company dedicated to the highest standards of professionalism, service, and ethical business practices. Tarlton continues to apply these standards to a wide range of projects, from a few thousand to more than a million square feet; and from turning around distressed properties to development of one the region’s premier research parks. Tig’s experience and that of the company encompass virtually the entire world of commercial real estate: commercial/office buildings, complete research/industrial parks, shopping centers, and recreational and residential developments. Tig has also become an expert in successfully getting projects through the complex and demanding entitlement processes associated with Bay Area government agencies.

Education

Tig holds BS and MS degrees in Petroleum Engineering from Stanford University.

Professional/Community Activities

Tig has long been an active participant in professional and community activities. He has been associated with the Urban Land Institute, Industrial Development Research Council, NAIOP, and AIA. In the community, he has been active in fund raising for Stanford University, and is a former President of Stanford Associates. Volunteerism has been a major personal commitment. He has served on the Boards of Directors for the Mid-Peninsula YMCA , Stanford Children’s Health Council, and the Pacific School of Religion (Berkeley, CA).

Jay Ross

Board of Directors

Overview

Jay joined the Tarlton Board of Directors in 2019. He has spent his entire 28-year career as an attorney at Hopkins & Carley, where he recently served as co-chair of the Litigation Department for five years. Jay is a Shareholder of the firm and handles business and real estate disputes, including creditors’ rights in bankruptcy proceedings.

Background

Jay works with a wide variety of businesses associated with the real estate industry and uses his skills as a litigator to take a practical approach in solving their problems. He holds Martindale-Hubbell’s AV® Preeminent™ peer ranking, its highest ranking, and was recently recognized in US News Best Lawyers in America for his work on real estate litigation.

Education

Born in San Jose, Jay holds a J.D. degree from UC Hastings and received his B.A. in Political Science from UC Santa Barbara.

Professional/Community Activities

Jay was recognized in 2017 by the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors as the Outstanding Community Service Person of the Year. Active in the Rotary Club of San Jose for more than 15 years, Jay served on both its Foundation and Club Boards and served as the Club’s President in 2017-18. Jay led the effort to create the Shirley Lewis Rotary Sculpture Walk in the Guadalupe River Park and Gardens, was responsible for the Rotary agreements with the City of San Jose for the Rotary PlayGarden (Centennial project), and chaired the Rotary Fireworks 2016 (returning July 4 fireworks to downtown San Jose). In 2019, the Boy Scouts of America Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council honored Jay with its “Character Award”, a recognition of traits such as leadership, confidence, trustworthiness, and kindness. Jay also served as two-term Chair of the San Jose Planning Commission, and has been active with the SVO Political Action Committee, serving as its Chair and multiple years on its Executive Committee, and numerous other civic organizations and efforts.
